1. Our commitment

BioTekk is committed to making www.biotekk.com usable by as many people as possible, including people who use screen readers, magnification, keyboard-only navigation, speech input, high-contrast modes or reduced-motion settings.

Our target is conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. This statement describes the measures in place, the areas we know are not yet fully conformant, and how to tell us when something does not work.

2. What is built into this website

• Keyboard operability. Every interactive control — navigation, accordions, the mobile menu, forms — is reachable and operable by keyboard, with a visible focus indicator. A skip link at the top of each page jumps straight to the main content.
• Semantic structure. Pages use landmark elements, a single main heading and a logical heading order, so screen-reader users can navigate by structure rather than reading linearly.
• Reduced motion. If your operating system requests reduced motion, scroll reveals, the animated statistics, the neural-network background and other decorative movement are suppressed.
• Decorative content is hidden. The animated canvases, grid overlays and the custom cursor are marked as decorative so assistive technology ignores them.
• Native cursor on touch and coarse pointers. The custom cursor is disabled where it would interfere, and the system cursor is restored.
• Accessible forms. Every field has a visible, programmatically associated label, required fields are marked in text as well as by colour, and submission results are announced through a live region rather than colour alone.
• State is exposed. Accordions expose expanded and collapsed state, the menu button exposes its expanded state and the element it controls, and the current page is marked in the navigation.
• Contrast and text. Body and interface text is designed to meet AA contrast on the dark palette, layouts reflow to 320 px without loss of content, and text can be resized or zoomed to 200% without breaking the page.
• No motion traps. Nothing flashes, auto-plays audio, or moves in a way intended to draw attention urgently.

3. Conformance status

This website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 level AA. “Partially conformant” means most of the standard is met, and the exceptions we are aware of are listed below. We have not yet commissioned an independent third-party audit; assessment to date has been carried out internally using keyboard and screen-reader testing alongside automated checks. We would rather say that plainly than claim full conformance we have not verified.

4. Known limitations

• Marquee data strip. The scrolling status strip on the homepage moves continuously. It is decorative, its content is duplicated in static text elsewhere on the page, and it is stopped when reduced motion is requested — but it does not currently have a visible pause control for users who do not set that preference.
• Long legal documents. The privacy, terms and cookie pages are long. In-page contents navigation is provided, but a plain-language summary version of each is not yet available.
• Independent audit. No external accessibility audit or user testing with disabled participants has been completed for this website. Both are planned before the platform is made generally available.
• Web fonts. Typefaces are loaded from a third-party font service. If that request fails, the page falls back to system fonts, which changes the appearance but should not affect readability.

5. Using this site with assistive technology

The site is built with standard HTML and progressive enhancement, and is intended to work in current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari on desktop and mobile, with NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver or TalkBack.

With JavaScript disabled, all page content remains readable and all navigation continues to work; forms submit conventionally and confirm through a dedicated confirmation page rather than an inline message. AbilityNet provides general advice on adapting your device at mcmw.abilitynet.org.uk.

6. The BioTekk platform

Accessibility is one of the dimensions in our platform evaluation framework, not a post-release fix. Planned work includes screen-reader testing of conversational flows, cognitive-load and plain-language review of support content, testing with users who have fluctuating concentration or literacy needs, and ensuring that safety and crisis information is reachable by every input method. Please tell us the page address, what you were trying to do, and the browser or assistive technology you were using. 8. Enforcement

We would like to resolve any problem directly. If you are not satisfied with our response, the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS) can advise you on your rights under the Equality Act 2010. If you access BioTekk through a public-sector organisation, that organisation's own accessibility statement and complaints route also apply.

This statement was prepared on 27 July 2026 and will be reviewed at least every 12 months, and whenever the website changes materially.
